THE ALCAZABA

THE ALCAZABA

Its construction, without going back to earlier stages, must be built on the first half of the thirteenth century.

Basically, the fortress of Jerez, is a construction built in 1312 around a large central courtyard with an irregular pentagon in its southwestern part. It is a work of masonry with of ashlar angle braces in their square towers and strategic buckets with varying heights in his paintings from eight to twelve meters. The set was defended and flanked by 26 towers, among these stands the Tower of Homage or Bloody Tower, as it is the larger and more robust measures. The Tower Arms, the Veleta or Clock, and the Coal complete the five towers of the fortress.
